Collection: Balustrading-Rigging

At one end you will use:
1 x Lag Screw
1 x Jaw/Swage Rigging Screw (to tension the wire)

At the other end:
1 x Lag Screw
1 x Fork Terminal Swage

The rigging screw can be pulled apart to feed them through any centre posts. You will need to drill 8mm holes through the center posts. The end posts will require a 3mm pilot hole for soft wood or 4mm for hard wood.

The price includes the cutting and swaging to the wire. Upon purchasing this item you will need to provide the lengths and quantities of the runs. The lengths will need to be the inside to inside of the end posts. It is important that these measurements are accurate and that you do not move your posts once your order has been placed.

We will do the rest. We will cut the wire to length and hydraulically swage the fittings to the wire.

You will also need to purchase the wire to go with these kits. To calculate the wire required multiply the quantity required by the length of the wire. Eg:
11 x 1554 = 17094
11 x 2459 = 27049
11 x 5654 = 62194
Total wire = 106 meters

This is the most common wire used for DIY balustrading. It is a semi-flexible wire and is suitable for use with Thimble and Ferrule fittings as well as hydraulically swaged fittings.

The 7x7 indicates that strand of the wire. It is actually made from 7 thin wires twisted together then 7 of these twisted. In total there are 49 individual strands twisted to make the one strand of wire.
